The Poet

I am a poet.

I express in rhyme

my feelings and thoughts

at a particular time.

By means of a verse,

be it flowery or terse,

using meter and rhyme,

be it trite or sublime,

I give measured birth

to a blessing or curse.

I manifest on earth

what I find to be true

known to many or few,

for all and the sundry

to ponder its worth,

to reflect and consider:

To do or not do?

that is the question.

The answer it simple.
